    Hi,

I have been making some additions to my Enchantrix install and I think they have potential to be generally useful and worth putting into the standard release.

My additions relate to the pricing and selling of the enchants themselves and currently allow the user to completely automate the process of generating a list of available enchants and pricing them according to the most recent Auctioneer values as well as a desired profit margin/service charge. The list generator can produce an advertisement of enchants and prices suitable for posting in the trade channel. My current posting takes the form:

    <Opening String> <Item Category1> <Enchant1> <Enchant2>... <Item Category2>...

    e.g.

    "Selling Enchants: Bracer: +5 STA - 1g50s, Deflection - 3g, 2H Weapon: +7 DMG - 8g, Any Weapon: Fiery Weapon - 26g"

The code contains functionality to prioritise the enchants to be advertised based on the Item, the Stat, the price and whether it provides training benefit, however, there is no usable interface for interacting with these variables as yet.

I propose adding this functionality to Enchantrix once it is made user-friendly and I would like to be added to the developers list to start understanding the processes used within the team for additions. If this goes well, I have some other ideas for lifting some of the burden of pursuing enchanting, both for buyers and sellers that I would like to work on.

About me: I am a software developer by trade and although I have no Lua experience, I have used a bit of Python and the style seems reasonably familiar to me. I would consider myself reasonably trustworthy around a codebase although I have no previous experience of working with a remote CVS environment as I believe is used by sourceforge.

Hello! Norganna (the lead Auctioneer developer) seems to be on vacation or something as he hasn't been seen around lately, so it seems like I'm the most senior dev around (other than Luke). So lets get the ball rolling.

Needless to say, we are in dire need of Enchantrix developers. That being said, and as an enchanter myself your idea sounds really good. I wish I had the power to give developer status to applicants, but alas only norganna can do such things. In the mean time, you could join us at the IRC channel (irc://irc.datavertex.com/norganna) or just generally help out with forums questions. Also, we don't really use SourceForge's CVS system anymore, we currently use our own SVN server at http://norganna.org/svn/auctioneer/trunk/. Thanks for your application.
