    Hi!

I'm not posting this to the bug tracking system yet, as I'm not sure how to classify it.

I noticed that after upgrading to 3.4.x (not sure which one it started in), my main Auction House toon started taking a long time to exit the game. On the order of 2-4 minutes for the game to exit. The CPU is not heavily utilized during this time, and the disk activity light shows only sparse activity. The screen locks up but the environmental sound loops that were playing at the time I clicked on logout or exit continue to play. I can't alt-tab out of the game until the game exits on its own. It does always exit on its own, but it takes 2-4 minutes.

If I kill the game with Task Manager before the game exits on its own (when I can even get Task Manager to pop up), the auctioneer.lua file is invariably corrupted, truncated in the middle of a line. This tells me that auctioneer is writing the backup file and saving the new variables while the game appears to be locked up.

When I delete the auctioneer.lua file in ...\savedvariables, then start the game and exit, the game exits instantly. If I leave the auctioneer.lua file in place, the game exits deadly slowly.

My auctioneer.lua file is only 8-10 megabytes in size. It does have data in it for multiple servers, but the majority of the data is for one server in particular.

For the toon that is my main auction toon, the game always exits slowly. But ... I have a toon or two who have never visited the AH and for them the game exits quite quickly.

Anyone else have this happen? What might be causing this tremendously long exit or logout time?

My main AH toon has made many many thousands of sales, and so has a huge "bids" section.

I could schedule a time to sell off my main inventory, delete the database and rebuild it from scratch, but I just did that about 6 weeks ago, so I suspect that I'll be back in the same issue in short order.

I really hope this is a known issue, and that y'all will have a suggestion. The slow exiting thing is getting really irritating.

    Cheers, all!

Bummer. This didn't start happening until the 3.4.x round, I think, so I didn't think it was a normal thing. But I went ahead and wipred my database, 'cause the delay was getting way too irritating (what with locking up the keyboard and screen for the duration).

    Cheers.
