Current Page has taken longer than 60 seconds to complete. Rescanning.

On every page or so it seems (hellscream server 9:07am local time)

No issues/errors/etc just the chat spam on each attempted page scan that takes longer than 60 seconds..

I'm having the exact same problem on Archimonde @ 0800 server time. The latency is pretty good for this server at only 304ms. The scan seems to be taking much much longer then normal.

Indeed ..not sure if its a debug code, or something erroring out and forcing the rescan.. its been going since about 1 hour 20 mins ago lol... not the usual scan length for sure!

Update: removing auctioneer.lua from saved variables folder under my account, nuking enhtooltip and auctioneer folders (previously had just unzipped over top) and reinstalling fresh copy from zip, no more scan issues.
Update 2: rescan after following above steps took roughly 12 mins for 77 pages of auction data. (with an empty database)

Next test will be reimporting old data and scanning again to see if the issue was something related to old data not converting properly or something of that nature.

Update 3: readding old data and running scan again results in same issue (end result being no items added to database and constant timeouts and attempted rescans of each page)

Can anyone else confirm that this was not a server issue but rather some incompatibilty glitch?

Same problem, just removed auctioneer.lua and it works. Looks like an issue with converting the old database.

Same issue. Looks like I'll just remove the older data.

I also experianced this problem with the 3.1 beta 2, my auctioneer.lua is 15,856kb.

I will try the beta again but with it clean and see what happens.

Same issue (constant rescanning of pages due to 60 second timeout).

It's not the server.. my ping is 219 right now. Am on a very fast machine too.

Since deleting all the old auction data makes the mod useless, I guess I'll go back to an older version for now.

This is a beta version meant for testing and debugging purposes. You're basically helping us to make the AddOn better. During this process it is normal (and expected) to have bugs in the program and for the beta testers to devise work-arounds whenever possible, in the hopes that it will make the next version of Auctioneer as bug-free as can be. If you're not confortable having the possibility that all of your Auctioneer data will go puff without warning or possibility of recovery, I REALLY encourage you to keep using the "release" version of Auctioneer (3.0.11 as of this post). Oh, ahd don't forget to save your SavedVariables files often

Quite aware of this I've been a C++ (and now C#) developer for as long as I can remember!

I wouldn't expect the beta to be nonfunctional though, especially how it attempts to "convert" your existing auction data, which then proceeds to break it.

That is more like an "alpha" than a beta

This issue has (or had) this morning a workaround..

Immediately after logging in with the auctioneeer beta, log out completely and log back in.. something wasn't being saved or set properly but once you logout and back in (before scanning) it works like a champ..

It is, but that's the difference between commercial development and opensource-projects.
I.e. there is no defined QM here which would be undergone before releasing a beta/release version.

I was having the same problem on Suramar 9/22, about 4pm. Latency was good, about 185ms. However, I was using 3.0.10. I tried upgrading to 3.0.11 to see if that fixed. It seemed to work for the slow scanning issue.

Then I started getting UI memory errors. So I decided to try 3.1 to see if that fixed it.

I tried scanning and got the same problem. I rebooted, and it worked fine.

Sounds like something screwy with the AH. I heard at least one other person at the AH asking if anyone else was having trouble with the AH. Not sure if he was using auctioneer.

I have unit-tests (which it passed every one) and it worked on several versions of my data. We had a bunch of internal testing and it worked there. Now it's time for the general public.

The difference between unit tests in an isolated environment, and 4 people testing it to 100 people testing it is massive. Of course bugs are going to be found.

For example when I converted my data, the first thing I did was check memory usage. Then I logged out and logged back in and checked memory usage again to see if it had reduced, then I did a scan... I did this every time I converted a SavedVariables file.

You didn't. You went ahead and scanned the AH straight away. I never even thought once of doing that.

I really can't thank you guys enough for helping to beta test. We really appreciate it, and honestly we couldn't make a stable release without you doing it. It would be bedlam around here if we had to release what we thought was a stable code base.

I would think that's what almost everyone is going to

Anyway, I just got beta 4 and the problem still exists. Restarting WoW does seem to fix it though.

    Keep up the good work!

I had the same problem, but I had never updated to the beta. I tried the beta and the old db converte fine, but I'm still not able to scan the AH.

a reboot worked for me too!

Auctioneer_gethsp (itemkey, realm) - defaulting to player realm errors now....and when i put something up for auction it says that there is no competition when in fact there is. i even retried scanning the category.

    Same.

    heh i just snagged the Beta;

i did what Norganna did and just logged in, checked my mem, saw that it converted, then re-logged to check again...rofl

i haven't had the issue at all - let's see how it handles things. i had like 5 months of auctioneer data
  21.
dang! i went back to the release and to my saved data and now the tool tip data won't hook to the item again!!! argh. this happened to me once before afer the last game patch and i don't know what finally fixed it. yes i removed all my other mods too.
  22.
ok...i put 3.1.0.0008 and reimported the data...the tooltip linking worked but i could no scan quickly (timeouts). i rebooted and am whole again. Thanks norganna for those quick changes!
