    Hi
I have been using bottomscanner for a while now when I am at work with the WOW running in background mode with sound set for background use.
My questions are firstly, any idea how to turn off ALL sounds except the warning when a deal pops up, at the moment i cant get rid of all sounds. Secondly and more importantly is that i set the minprofit but frequently it resets back to a lower figure. I set it to around 4 or 5g, so the alarm sound isn't going off too often to wind up my colleagues !but quite often it resets to 5s or so. Is there a bug or a something I am missing
    btw - Fantastic program !

what other sounds are you talking about? the only other auctioneer sound that I am aware of is the "finished scan" sounds, which can be turned off. Please read the wiki for the auctioneer slash commands.

I have no idea why your options would be getting reset. to be clear, you are setting the option as a number of copper, correct? i.e. "/btm minprofit 40000" for 4g? the option requires you to specify the amount in copper.

Hi, I was setting the options as g, ie 2g or 5g, should it be copper then, as the g setting seemed to work.
I read in another disc that btm stops when a deal pops up until it is clicked yes. no or ignore, I wondered if i didnt click it for a while, say i was away from my desk, then btm would reset.
With reference to the sounds, no, it was the wow background sounds, I can switch off the bamusic etc, but there are a few sounds mainly a low roar type sound which occurs quite often. Not an add-on issue, just wondered if there was an option in the sounds interface which if turned off, wouldn't turn off the btm sound
Out of interest, can I change the telephone ring sound on btm ?
Sorry for loads of questions, they are only icing on an already very good cake !

i don't believe it will work properly if you try to use "2g", it will actually set it to 2 copper. (the copper and gold coin symbol look similar, so you probably just never noticed.)

no, when btm is paused and waiting, it is just waiting. it won't magically reset your options too.

i dunno whether changing the various sound levels will affect the playback of addon sounds - i'm guessing one of them does. try it out and let us know.

there is no mechanism to change the sound file. you can do it by just copying a different sound with the same name over top of it (it's called DoorBell.mp3 in the sounds subdirectory). You'll have to do this every time you get a new version.

    Hi
    Thanks for the replies
I will try what you suggest, so I guess 1 gold is 10000 copper
I will dabble wit the sounds options and give feedback
    Thanks again for your help

I imagine that with Lua programming there is nothing of what we programmers call "strict type casting" in variables. So you COULD enter "2g" into that setting, but it will either get ignored or misinterpreted. Most likely it will think it is just "2" which is just 2 copper. For it to work properly you must use "10000" for 1 gold.

The sounds of various stuff might be the ambient noises and these can be turned off in the control panel for sounds. I think it is a check box called "ambient sounds". That should get rid of the various rawrs and tweets!

OK, I've updated the FAQ with this info: http://www.norganna.org/wiki/BottomScanner/FAQ

I have just had a thought as I amstill getting the problem of low bid options when using btm
Even if I set the minprofit to 200000, would other calculations also show up, say if a minimum percentage was reached, would it show as an option to bid, even if the minproifit was below 200000 ?
Another idea was, would the choicxe reset as I go afk and then resume ?

no, it will have to meet both to minimums to show up.

no, it definitely shouldn't change at all when you afk.

    Any other ideas
The deals that come up, keep showing at below the minimu profi set in the '/btm minprofit 350000' setting
    Thanks

Is there a way to reset to default then just add in the line /btm minprofit 350000 so that only deals which would give that profit show, i guess this would clear any anomolous settings
