    I was wondering if it would be possible to prefix the folders used for auctioneer, gatherer etc in some way..

    ie..
    all the blizzard default addons are prefixed with Blizzard_
    all the CTMod addons are prefixed with CT_

    I only ask this because it's not exactly easy keeping a track of what addon is associated (read: dependant :wink:) on another addon based solely on the interface/addon directory, esp without alt-tabbing between the folder and WoW itself.

    I doubt it would really be a huge hassle to do... and I'm hoping I'm not the only one that would appreciate the grouping of the folders into an easy to comprehend list :bigsmile:

    Otherwise, great work ppl, been using auctioneer, gatherer and enchantrix for ages now.. I even remember when enchantrix WASN'T part of auctioneer.. :shocked:.. lol

    If you had been earlier (MUCH earlier) I would have supported you, since you are right: the prefix-thing makes it easy to keep track of the addons associated with the prefix.
    But the problem is that somemany people are used to Auctioneer being situated in the Auctioneer folder, BeanCounter in BeanCounter, Gatherer in Gatherer, etcetera, that you can't force them to go over to (e.g.) Norg_Auctioneer, Norg_BeanCounter, Norg_Gatherer.

    Btw, these are things I have ran to into my professional live as well. In 1 case we first made the mistake of just adding the prefixes, since we thought that everybody would be more happy. How wrong we were <sigh> ("When I link to <function> it does not work anymore" "How could you, our complete software stack now needs to be changed <censored>" and so on). Never underestimate the stupidity of the human mind.
