If you're wondering what happened to Enchantrix, please be sure to read the 4.0 announcement thread, or the Auctioneer FAQ, question 2.
  1.
A link on the downloads page said it would take me to a "relatively stable gamma version of Enchantrix: http://auctioneeraddon.com/dl/Enchantrix/. I downloaded the version of Enchantrix(enchantrix-4.0.5.zip) on that page as suggested. The file's date was 2007-09-25 22:26:06, size 62,940 bytes and quality Release(I expected to see Gamma here). However, upon unzipping it, I found the Enchantrix to contain only one file "nopatch". It provides no functionality with that file. Where can I download the relatively stable gamma version of Enchantrix that works with the current version of World of Warcraft? Thanks.

hmm, someone else reported this same problem, but it downloads fine for me. no idea what is going on.
  2.
Maybe you ought to logon from the Internet side the same way we do, access the website and try to download Enchantrix and see what you get. I suspect that there is a linkage problem. You have access to the "Real Enchantrix". We get the "Bogus" one.

Only a nopatch file for me, too, both with WinZip and with Windows Vista Explorer.

norgs has since rearranged things, now just the old beta should be available. i'm not 100% sure this is what is intended, but i think it may be. none of the devs online tonight even know who made the last changes to enx....heh.

Norgs and MP made some changes to Enx for AucAdv. Looks like they didn't keep it backwards compatible.

I downloaded the latest version 4 of auctioneer last night. There was NO enchantrix file other than the no patch file. What to do? Where can I get enchantrix if not with auctioneer 4? Try auctioneer 5?

thanks for the work you guys do btw

hawkson: please read the note about enchantrix on the download page. it must be downloaded separarely with auc 4.0. or you can download one of the preview release betas, which will come with enchantrix if you get a suite version.

matt: he was asking about the 4.0.5 version, which is Release quality. the classic suite is actually the Auc Classic 5.0 version, which is only alpha at the moment.

Note: There is no 4.0.5 version, because there is no release quality version of Enchantrix available. The current version of Enchantrix is Alpha. (and you may download an Enchantrix-only package from the Preview Versions section of the download page)

    (actually, enchantrix is beta)

Sorry about the confusion: but I'm trying to get Enchantrix 4.x up and going while Norgs and co. are writing AucAdv (5.0) -- so our versioning is a little out of sync.

BTW - the 5.0 preview version of Enchantrix works just fine with Auc 4.

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but here is my situation:

I downloaded Auctioneer (apparently, v5.0.PRE.2823) from curse-gaming about a month ago after reading about its awesomeness (it really is!) and everything about Auctioneer works fine.

Now I have downloaded Enchantrix v3.3.0.0808, again from curse-gaming, but I don't know how to resolve the problem of already having the folders "EnhTooltip" and "Stubby" from when I installed Auctioneer.

I probably missed something in a ReadMe, or help section, or something, and I already looked through the forums about E-trix here but nothing jumped out at me as pertaining to my situation. Please advise me on what to do, and if I need to back up any files before proceeding. Much thanks and praise for the neat AddOns!

you're trying to use mismatched versions of auctioneer and enx. as far as I know, the curse version of auctioneer should already include enchantrix.

in any case, you're better off getting your versions from here: http://www.auctioneeraddon.com/dl/#preview

any of the suite versions should include enx.

Having personally updated the Curse files late last week, know for sure that the download of Auctioneer available there includes Enchantrix and all of the other libs.

You likely were trying to download the old Enchantrix-only package- Enchantrix is now specifically included in the Auctioneer Suite varieties rather than as a stand alone.

As Dinesh points out, the best place to find and update our mods is from our servers, where you can find all of the Auctioneer and Gatherer related goodies. http://www.auctioneeraddon.com/dl/ or http://www.gathereraddon.com/dl/

    =)

Thank you for your help and comments! ^_^

I just have one question left then...do I need to back up anything in my current Auctioneer folder so I can keep using the data I've collected so far? If so, then what?

And I guess I was just curious about how many errors or whatnot I might expect to see when using the 'alpha' version of say, the AuctioneerClassicSuite.

you don't need to back anything up, but it is good practice to make periodic/frequent backups of your data, in case something gets corrupted or some such.
