After tooling around with Auctioneer and learning it's abilities, I find myself wondering what stuff to buy? What types of stuff is everyone else buying/reselling? Usually I look at the profit and go from there, but I'm starting to think there is a better way to earn a profit. So, what should I be reselling?

Generally only stuff that's been bidded on a fair percentage before. Also, it pays to have a general idea about what's in high demand in terms of professions, and which items are just totally useless (like Frostweave gloves...grrr...).

One thing I learned: I will never again buy a recipe/plan that only a specialized crafter can use, for example Plans: Hammer of the Titans

You're looking for items that have high liquiidity, that is that people buy and sell a lot. Commodity items such as disenchanted materials (shards, dust, essence), cloth, herbs, gems and so on. Trade skill stuff.

Avoid blue and purple items unless you know what you're doing. You can sink a lot into an item, only to find that some new item was introduced recently that's totally killed demand for the old one, and the prices that auctioneer is telling you can be obsolete. Plus, they tend to cost more to list.

Prefer items that have little or no listing cost. listing cost eats into your profits, especially if it takes you a few days to sell it.

On the flip side plans, recipes, schematics are dirt cheap to relist. Some of my best turn-arounds were on these items.

I think I bought "Pattern: Mooncloth Robe" for 20g and sold it for 80g.

the pattern for mooncloth robe was one of my best buys too. think i got it for 40g, and it sold for 140g just yesterday.

i buy and bid on almost everything auctioneer finds. then i list things on the weekends. i find the best thing for me has been to buy all the time, and make sure i'm selling everything all weekend long. i start listing friday afternoon, and make sure the auctions don't end until after midnight on sunday. i also find it helps to break up stacks into single items. people well often sell trade goods in stacks of twenty, and a buyer may only need one or two for their recipe. it also helps to make an alt who's an enchanter. especially now with enchantrix. if i have greens that don't sell after a weekend or two, i disenchant them and sell the shards, or collect them for enchants that i want on my own gear.

i just started using auctioneer about 3 weeks ago, at lvl 48 i think. i had 60g at the time. now i'm lvl 56 and broke 675g yesterday. i'm seeing my net worth grow exponentially after every weekend where i make all my sales. THANK YOU Norganna and eveyone else who's worked on this mod. i used to think the epic mount would be unattainable, and now it looks like it'll be peanuts. i LOVE auctioneer and to be honest after playing with it now for a few weeks, i can't imagine playing without it.

(p.s. the alt+clicking to create auctions, and the print-in "window" have made using auctioneer so rediculously easy and smooth to use. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU)

Or you could just go and buy it for 4g from the NPC

Why would anyone buy this for 10g/20g/140g (xD)

Because you don't know what NPC to buy it from.
Because you don't want to take the time to go find it yourself.
Because you don't know that you CAN buy it so cheap.

My suggestion? Buy it from the Vendor yourself for 4g and sell it for as much as you can.
Anytime I'm at a vendor and I see something that is limited supply, I'll buy it and sell it on the AH.
I generally double the price I paid.
