I've been using Auctioneer for some time now and I just love it. The best addon imho. Can't imagine trading in AH without it!

There is one problem when ppl set their prices. Some ppl type silver prices accidentally to gold price field. So if they intended to put an item for 25s starting bid and 50s buyout, they make 50g buyout instead. This can happen with start bid also. Those prices screws up the average counting for starting bid and buyout, rendering them useless. The good thing is that there is median value to help determining the real price but it would be nice to have averages as well.

I'd suggest that the addon would exlude those wrong prices each time it does the scan. Don't know exactly how to do it but I have this idea. Check the price against median price and if it's more than a treshold value (say 50 times) higher, then exclude the price.

Would somebody agree with me? Also, is this possible to implement with the addon?

"Those prices screws up the average counting for starting bid and buyout,..."

That's why Auctioneer uses MEDIAN prices, half the items were higher, half were lower. With a true average a single item put up at 99g for a 20g item would throw the average way off, but by using median the effect is minimized.

Anyone using Auctioneer without also checking the current pricing of equal or similar items is going to be hurt, either by over or underpricing. Although an item is listed as "Never Seed At Auction", a similar item may be there so make sure you Browse the current offerings.

I agree with this idea, though i do believe it should only be set to eliminate the huge extremes, i mean ive seen silk priced at 1289G buyout and obviously this threw auctioneer for a 6 and raised the median (not by much, but still enough to give unrealistic estimates).

So yeah, i think give it some thought.

Stachey, Auctioneer offer BOTH medians and average bid/buyout prices. I know that mispriced auctions don't mess median prices so medians are always useful. I just wanted the average prices to be useful as well, that's all.

I personally beleive most of these 'accidents' are people trying to get others to misread their auctions and misbid.

A 'trim item prices' button would be perfect on the create auction tab. It could just trash numbers more than X gold from the median on an item by item basis. X could be 10+ gold (depending on the median) or could be user defined.

That's EXACTLY what it is. I misread an auction and spent 88g on something I thought was 88s. When I saw the guy online, and asked for a refund, he laughed at me and told me to go play something else and stop crying. \:

Nothing surprising here imo. That is also the way of the real world. While a refund might have been a gesture of extreme and unnecessary generosity, everyone is responsible for their own clicks. It's a hostile environment anyway. Someone could gank you while exping or mislead you into losing your money. Very educational and thrilling.
