Here is an idea to make auctioneer a bit more specific. If auctioneer finds something with an end time of "very long" and I run it 18 hours later and it is still in the AH as "short" obviously the price it is at is too high for the current market (especially if there is strong activity on the AH, aka many of the "very long" or "medium" auctions are now gone) and should be either discarded or discounted...
This would also prevent other auctioneer users inflating the price of items because someone thought a stack of xyz was worth twice what it normally sells for and kept selling it for that price (and having it expire, over and over again, for a week or two.)
Also, tracking items by the time of day they sell would be useful as well. Although that may be a bit too much work, especially on a less populated server with some big ticket rare items.
Oh, and the system really needs to keep track of deposit prices! I'm getting killed on some of these items!
I believe some features relating to actual sale prices are planned for the 5.0 release. It will facilitate keeping Auctioneer prices in line with actual sales numbers instead of what they are put up on the AH for. Sorry, no ETA on when it will be finished. Let's just say it will it will be substantially sooner than Duke Nukem Forever.
As for deposit prices, one of the Auctioneer mods shows them (BottomScanner perhaps?) if enabled, at the bottom of the tooltip for items it knows about.
Of course it does, but it isn't taken into account on the "profit" page... the odds of a lot of those items selling the first time around is rather low... it may take 5 days to sell.. which means 4x deposit needs to be taken out of the "profit"...
and the bottomscanner deposit scan isn't accurate 100% of the time
