I am confused, latest release has a Database to import. Now you said you do not support such a feature, but you still advertise it on downloads page. What for the HELL is going on, there is NO DOCUMENTATION, NO HELP whatsoever on hoow/what to do with the BDWowheaddata files in that zip folder. WHERE? DO I extract them who knows? Where is the import feature who knows - it doesnt even show on the options.

last of all, if this is not supported, then why for the HELL do you keep it on downloads page?

THE LAST TIME ANYONE SAID THAT SUCH FILES ARE NOT SUPPORTET WAS BEFORE WE LAUNCHED THE WOWHEAD FILE

put the folder in your inteface folder, then you'll see a database function in the configator,

and please switch to a friendlier kind of language if you want further help.

Yeah... given that your not actually paying for a product and people are actually giving you something for free I would 1.) be a little more aprreciative that they are kind enough to continue making the addon and 2.) a little more patient. it's their free time they use to make this addon when you start paying them to make this product and you have a contract with them then you MIGHT be able to start complaining about this kind of thing. otherwise bitching at someone who is giving you something for nothing is not the way to go about getting what/the help you want.

I want to know what's so difficult to follow about these instructions that are printed RIGHT ABOVE the GathererDB download links:

GathererDB are prebuilt databases that are made available for import into Gatherer. You simply install the version of Gatherer from above, and a database from below. When you look in the Gatherer configuration screen, you will be able to import the database via the Database section, and enjoy going and finding the new nodes.

Am I being ambiguous here? If anyone can think of a better way to explain the process of installing the DB addon, going into the Gatherer config screen, selecting the Database section, and importing the nodes, could they please supply me with it?

Ok, I have added a link to a wiki page with more details about the addon and it's usage / rationale behind it's release. Obviously if one user is having trouble with it, there must be others. Hopefully this addresses the issues and wasn't just a dreadful waste of 45 minutes of my life.

I will admit, I wondered about it myself. With all the admonitions about not getting prefilled databases in the past, the sudden 180 caught me by surprise as well. I didn't have any trouble with the instructions as given already though.

I would like to thank Norganna for providing the database, and this addon. :whorship:

It's been enormously helpful to me, and hopefully others are finding it so as well.
However, just as a heads up... the Wowhead database does seem to be incomplete, at least for mining nodes. It shows all nodes up to and including Fel Iron, but not a single Adamantite or Khorium.

Perhaps I downloaded it wrong...or misconfigured Gatherer (although everything seems to be checked on and working properly) or Wowhead's database is incomplete.... not sure, but felt it was worth mentioning. New nodes that I mine myself appear as they should, so it leads me to think that the database itself is incomplete.

Anyway, thanks again for providing such a quality mod!

EDIT: I agree, the OP needs to stop whining. It's like winning a car then whining that the owner's manual isn't in the glove compartment. Geez.

Hi, as far as I'm aware (not being a high level miner myself), the deposits that you are complaining are not present only drop in instances, correct?

Since instances have no X/Y coordinates available, they are unfortunatly unmappable.

Heh, please don't get me wrong, I was *not* complaining.

The ones I mentioned do indeed spawn outside of instances, and get accurately added to Gatherer when I mine them myself. Wowhead must have left them out for some reason or another. It's just gonna take a bit more legwork, is all, and I certainly don't mind! Having the hundreds upon hundreds of previous nodes mapped out for me is a godsend; thanks again!

I would advise writing to Wowhead and ask why they do not appear. Maybe they don't know!

I generated my own GatherItems array from a PHP script I wrote to parse WoWHead. The end file is 3.51 MB in size.
Your GatherDB addon causes the GatherItems array to fill up in such a way the end file is 1.50 MB in size.

The GatherDB addon appears to have no Adamantire Ore at all registered.

In all fairness the last time I parsed WoWHead was back in March, but I doubt they would delete all their Adamantite Ore spawns...

For an example of what should happen:
Create a new profile, calling it Mining.
Make it so only Mining nodes appear on the world map (uncheck the display of Herbalism nodes).
    Show the Terokkar map.

There should be Adamantite and Rich Adamantite icons all over the Skettis area, but they are not there.
