Hi. been playing wow 6/7 weeks and been using bottom scanner, auctioneer and enchantrix for last 4/5 weeks or so. amazingly effective together and ive made lots of gold already. BUT i have just recieved a 72 hour ban and after reading through rules only thing i have done thats close to breaking the rules is using a third party program but my ban is for "online trading" according to blizz! i have only ever paid for my account and dont buy gold or anything like that. can anyone confir as to wether or not these prgrams are classed as "cheating" in blizzards eyes? has anyone else had warnings like this? i really dont want to stop using btm scanner and the others but now im on final warning i dont want to risk it. i have another account tht i could earn gold on and send to my main account but could they trace this?

    thanks in advance

Perhaps you were banned by mistake. It happens. Has anyone else used your account, and are you sure it hasn't been hacked? Be sure there aren't any keyloggers on your system.

None of these mods are illegal. When Blizzard informs the Auctioneer team of anything they disapprove of, the devs will fix it. The original version of BottomScanner, called BottomFeeder was like that, but to my knowledge no one ever received a ban from using it and it broke afer the 2.0 patch anyway.

In short, Auctioneer is one of the most downloaded and used mods out there, so it is not illegal and will not get you into any trouble.

Delsaber: The only question that I have is do you trade large amounts of gold between your 2 accounts? This can sometimes trigger the automatic systems that Blizzard use to identify RMT (real money trading) practices.

If you have been doing this, I would write a nice, polite letter to the email address they provided to you in the suspension notice, explaining that you control, or know the party of the second account, and that is the only trading that you have been doing between these two accounts, and it hasn't been for real money.

If you are overly generous, and send lots of money to other people, this can also cause the systems to flag your account. I also have my suspicions that buying things that have been bought with RMT money can also taint your account, but this is a baseless assumption on my part.

It's also possible that if your "friends" have sent you money to "get you going", and they, unbeknownst to you had bought the gold, your account will be automatically flagged.

Your best policy if you're sure you haven't done anything wrong is to write a polite letter to them, then they will investigate your issue and if it was a mistake, they will rectify it. Plus you don't really want to have that "final warning" flag on your account.

If you have been doing something wrong, I'd shut up and take the 72hr suspension however, cause if they investigate it and find out you have been involved in RMT, then you're likely to move up to a full ban :)

Wow. That's good info. Getting flagged for trading gold between separate accounts trigger an automatic flagging system. Sometimes I'll kick down sums to non-auction house playing Guildies. Any idea the minimum to trigger this?
