I am getting an error written out to my chat log whenever I mouseover something in the Lootlink window. The problem appears to be with the way EnhTooltip is trying to work with Lootlink. The discussion and error text, including Telo's response and his recent code changes that brought this about, can be found here:
I'm having the same issues with an Auctioneer/EnhTooltip/Lootlink conflict, and so are many others. In fact, I now get an error message as soon as I log in:
I really love Auctioneer and it's mods AND Lootlink, and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I tried the hotfix Telo suggested ["Actually, if you're comfortable editing a text file, you can fix EnhTooltip yourself. It's a simple change. In Interface\AddOns\EnhTooltip, edit Tooltip.lua in your favorite text editor (Notepad works fine). Search for function llHookOnEnter. In this function block, about 5 lines below, change LootLinkTooltip to GameTooltip and save it out. You're all done after that."] and that fixed the HookOn prob, but now neither Auctioneer nor Lootlink are working properly.
Please let me know if I can provide any further info, and thanks once again for such useful Mods!
Sorry to hijack this post but this is the only way I've found to be able to post here... how do I start a new topic I see no post field or "post new" button, Thx. But I to am having the same above erros regarding lootlink and enhtooltip
this problem has been fixed for both auc4 and auc5. i'm not sure when the next build of either will be, so if you want to make the changes yourself, here is what needs to be changed:
well i reinstalled 5.0 to get the original files and the errors went away so that code that i changed was the problems maybe i didn't change the right file i changed C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\enhtooltip\Tooltip.lua
that is the correct file, but the things you had to change depended on which version you were running. if you were only running auc4, you made one set of changes. i'm not clear why you would have reinstalled auc5.
another user reported a similar error after making the change manually, which concerns me, but i did test on an install that had nothing but auc 4.0.5 and lootlink and got no errors.
I only have 4.05 installed and i reinstalled 5.0 to correct the changes that i made to the file and to make sure i didn't mess anything else up. do we only need to make these changes if we have lootlink? cause i don't have that installed
I applied the "fix" for the enhtooltip / lootlink thing, and I didnt "fat finger" any of the code bec I copied and pasted from the trac system, and yes I made the fix for the appropriate version. However, when I did auctioneer stopped working all together. So I'm gonna just stomach this error and let it slide because the "fix" doesnt seem to work.
