Fisheye is a web-based tool which provides "Source Code Repository Insight". It allows end-users and developers to search, monitor, and analyze source code repositories. More information about the generic product can be found here.
If you're an Auctioneer or Gatherer user who is only interested in the packaged release builds, Fisheye is probably not for you. If, however, you like to keep track of the new features we are implementing, you use the SVN to install and use dev builds, or you have specific questions about bugs we report and fix, then you'll probably find that Fisheye will provide a wealth of information for you to use.
Fisheye replaces some of the functionality previously provided by Trac. In particular, it is the place you will go to view the "timeline" of new code check-ins, and the details of specific changesets. The remainder of the Trac functionality (bug tracking, roadmaps) will be replaced by another tool in the near future, and will be announced separately.
Sharp-eyed readers out there may also notice the "Crucible" tool also linked on the Fisheye home page. This is primarily for use by developers, allowing us to review and discuss changes made by other developers. End-users shouldn't have to worry about this tool (in fact, you probably won't be able to even click on it).
So go ahead, go to http://fisheye.norganna.org/ and then click on the "browse" or "changelog" links for one of our repositories. You'll see some recent changes changesets, and can explore by clicking your way through to see detailed specifics about each one. Enjoy!
I've looked at fisheye and I like it pretty impressive.
One question, is the implementation of fisheye the reason I can no longer update the Auctioneer and Gatherer from SVN? I have been having the following error message for two three days when I try to update from SVN:
PROFIND request failed on '/svn/gatherer/trunk' PROFIND of '/svn/gatherer/trunk': 405 Method Not Allowed (http://norganna.org)
I have similar messages when updated the norganna trunk for Auctioneer. I really hope that it is still allowed for me to update from SVN even though I don't really contribute (read commit) since I do my own hacking and a SVN merge is the best way for me to maintain my own stuff.
Ok dumb question. so can we get the "updates" from the fisheye site before you implant them into the download section? if so that would be sweet but im not figuring out how to do it. my first attempt at this hee.
matt, you would need to learn and use an SVN client to do so. we do not provide any support for this though. So you probably want to read up on SVN before you decide whether to make the attempt.
Is fisheye having a problem? or is it my computer? when i go to the link, i get Service Temporarily Unavailable The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems.
