The last 2 builds offer *no* suggestions at all. First, I find that hard to believe with 150 pages posted, second, the Enchantrix report offers dozens of 'buy' suggestions. I find myself going back and installing the old Bottomscanner over and over again. The 'new and improved one' has never, ever worked. It used to make suggestions with all filters turned off but those suggestions involved 24 hour auctions, pretty much all of which came back as outbid.

Has anyone else had better luck?

Note that I am running AC and AA side by side (AC no longer offering a suggestion button, either, therefore being pretty much deprecated).

Not to wine but this has been broken for months for me.

this is the first I've heard of someone saying they have this much trouble with btm, is it possible to post some more information about what you have done to try and solve this (ie fresh install, no other addons activated) and what settings you have use? Also if you haven't tried a fresh install might want to do that with newest version available

"Broken for months"... That gives me a slight suspicion...
Ok, I suspect you installed the version when the filters were first introduced and had not very useful default values... Find the filter settings in BTM and try turning them off and see if it helps.

also, try running BTM on top of an AA scan (not an AC scan) and see if you get more hits. I suspect something in an AC scan is interfering with BTM.

Well, it's been broken ever since the new bottomscanner came out (with the UI). I always copy the AC over what I had before and then AA over that. Until very recently, when any filters where activated, no results were presented. However, without any filters, tons of suggestions came out, fairly useless as they had no time filter. 95% of all bids that I placed were outbid because the suggestion were far into the future. However, I got suggestions. I decided that this wasn't helping at all and used the old bottomscanner instead. That one continued to make meaningful proposals. I mentioned this weeks ago (maybe more than a month) and the response was that filtering was plain broken and no fix was available (search forums). I was not the only one that received this response and it appeared to me that this was common knowledge. I presumed people were not using it.

As AA is faded out (I can no longer 'Search' after a scan, not sure whether this is by design), the new bottomscanner now is the only option.

I just went back to the AH, set the filter 2h and waited. Very quickly I received a message that 155 pages were scanned (I did not initiate a scan explicitly). I must say that now I received 2 suggestions. Still, that seems hardly accurate with 155 pages of auctions.

I turned off all filters and then I received a few more suggestions.

I observed the AH as it was being queried. I noticed two things:

a.) I see page 155. It sits there for more than a minute. Not exactly sure how long, but very long.
b.) I see page 154. It again sits there very long.
c.) It goes back to page 155.

    and so on.

Maybe it is just not going through the AH besides the last two pages?

I am running maybe a dozen addons. Would you like a list?

you are running BTM in standalone mode. this just scans the last page. (there is an option to make it alternate to scan the first page too).

What you should do is start up BTM, then start a full AA scan using the "play" button. As the scan proceeds through all the pages, BTM should pop up hits. With my settings I get around 50-100 over the course of 10,000 auctions.

    Dinesh,

I did not know this. I will give it a shot. Your number sounds about what I would expect.

    Thanks for the help.

note that mine includes lots of bids that are for more than 30m, though. sooner or later i or another dev will get around to coding the interface to allow you to change the max time left for bids.

So the max time does not work, correct?

I noticed that I did not get any proposals for disenchants at least (maybe others as well) when specifying a time limit.

Then I ran a scan without time limit and got tons of proposals, all of them showing a time left of 8hrs, 24hrs or 48hrs. Clearly it cannot be true that there isn't an item with say 3hrs left. Having bid on the items which seems to take a long time to become due, I turn around and check my mailbox and I have already received a good deal.

Nowhere in the AA interface do I seem to be able to see a true due time. While this didn't use to be an issue as I could do a search (the button is gone by design?) now I couldn't spot a good and quick deal if I wanted to.

I know this plays a bit into AA and maybe Enchantrix, not sure where the issue is.

Clearly the proper time can or at least could be discerned as both Enchantrix seems to know it as well as AC knew how to.

    Am I confused?

Blizzard will only show timeleft categories of <30 minutes, 2 hours, 12 hours, and 48 hours (without AucAdv, these show up as Short, Medium, Long, and Very Long)

max time filter does "work", but it is not exclusive to bids only, it also filters out buyouts, which is really not the way it should be. it would be more accurate to say it works more than it should.

Not here. BottomScanner 5.x does not find deals for resale, at all, ever. It finds items for vendoring, and for disenchanting, but I have not seen a deal for resale since the 2.3 patch came out and the developers decided not to update 4.x anymore. It may be that I simply have not stumbled across the correct settings, since the simple and easy-to-set settings have been replaced with obtuse GUI gimcrackery.

I found that resale was popping up TOO often so i had to shut it off i was finding like 100-200 deals every time i would scan and it was taking too much time to complete a scan.I do have my setting set kinda low so it was finding like EVERY deal if i set it more conservative it wouldn't pop up that often but i find trying to resell something is just not profitable when i ahve to repost the same item 2,3,5 times before it sells.

Would you be willing to share through what combination of settings you managed to accomplish this? I see no equivalent to the old "pctprofit" and "minprofit" settings.

I do not see any settings with those labels. I have never seen a 5.x setting with those labels.

It's set independently for each evaluator (just like old btmscan had separate slash commands for resale, vendor, disenchant etc.).

    I see:

    + Evaluators
    Disenchant
    Enchant Mats
    Prospect
    Vendor

Under which of these should I find these settings?

This is build 2544. I believe it is the forth 5.x build I have tried since patch 2.3 put an end to the version that worked.

Sounds like you have the "Snatch and Resale evaluators not showing up" bug. There's a thread about that here: http://norganna.org/discuss/discussion/5563/cant-see-resale-and-snatch-in-the-dropdown-menu-on-some-chars/#Item_5

Posted By: NineSounds like you have the "Snatch and Resale evaluators not showing up" bug.

I have had this same problem, from the day the 2.3 patch came out, and just discovered yesterday that BottomScanner was *supposed* to have a GUI screen for Evaluators->Resale. (FInding and setting these values in 4.x was much simpler and easier.)

I tried /reloadui, as Nine suggested, and that appears to have made the Evaluators->Resale menu item appear in the GUI screen (for now...). On this screen, I have checked:

    Enable purchasing for resale: yes
    Allow buyout on items: yes
    Minimum profit: 0g 0s 1c
    Minimum discount 40.0%
Enable quality checking: Common (It does not say so, but I am assuming that this means "Common or better".)
(Note: it is quite tedious to drag the mouse all over the screen when all I should have needed to do was type "40". Sliders are *not* suitable for this purpose, and do nothing but waste screen real estate while making the user interface more cumbersome. Also, there is no need to display the setting out to one-tenth of a percent.)

Nothing else is checked on the Evaluators->Resale GUI screen. None of the "Filters->Ignore___" are enabled, so I am not "ignoring" anything.

I click "Scan". ... scan completes. BottomScanner has found no deals.

I go back and change Minimum discount to 1.0%.

I click "Scan". ... scan completes. BottomScanner has found no deals.

    I am using AuctioneerClassicSuite-5.0.PRE.2544.

With Resale not turning up... I have this issue with a clean install of AC but not with AA installed.
At the time I'd just assumed that these evaluators hadn't been included in the AC release...

kinesia, are you sure it is a resale problem? when I run BTM on AC, i get a very small number of hits (so I know it isn't just not running at all), but way fewer than I find with another scan immediately after on AA. This holded true for resale, appraiser, and disenchant (and maybe vendor, but I get many fewer of those usually, so it's hard to be sure). I'm almost sure it is a BTM-wide problem, not evaluator specific. I modified the JIRA issue you added to reflect this.

Dinesh, it's not that it doesn't scan, it's that it doesn't even show up in the BTM settings menu as one of the installed Evaluators. I get vendor, disenchant, snatch and one more I forget, but that's it.
Whereas in AA with the exact same settings I see all the evaluators.
Hence me assuming fewer were meant to be loaded in Classic
