as posted in the US WoW forums (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=4311052216&postId=43106874430&sid=1) with patch 2.4 a new recipe will be added which allows split of 1 void crystal into 2 large prismatic shards every 24h. Required enchanting skill is not yet known.
so be aware when buying and selling these both items in the future
feel free to discuss (if you understood my shool english )
I just read about this change yesterday and was going to stock up on cheap Void Crystals, but people have already gotten wind of it. So far this seems to have increased prices for Void Crystals on my server by 50-100%, so they're now in the 15-20g range apiece.
Yep, I expect the same kandoko, so I've been loading up on any cheap Void Crystals I can find. I figure any that are priced at or below the prices they were a week ago will be money in the bank once patch 2.4 hits.
It'll likely be awhile before 2.4 since it's a big patch with some major changes, and it hasn't even hit the PTR yet as of this writing.
So far for economic predictions... :s LPS went only slightly down for about 5 golds since patch 2.4.2 (= splitting of 1 void crystal into 2 large prismatic shards without CD). OK, let's say the demand is still high. But void crystal price is rocketing (!!), and from the bought price 20 g, it is now 40 g on my server (eu, alliance). This is a mystery for me... Splitting or selling direct the void crystal is even profitable.
On my server Large Prismatics dropped a lot (only a bit more than the 5 gold you mention, 7, but they were only 25g to start with so that's 25% of the price). I'm actually thinking it's partly a rush while everyone splits their stockpiles of voids up. I think it'll settle above 20g again in the long run... Hopefully...
