This has allrdy been announced as a fix in other posts but i though i would post here also. I only lock up when i port to and from silvermoon,or from sunwell area to shatt.. If anyone is useing the mod gatherer try disableing it and see if it works for them. It took me forever to find out this was the mod that was giveing me problems. Hope this helps some people out
Same problem here. Cannot use portals from Shattrath, client locks up. Cannot Hearthstone from base game to Shattrath, client locks up. FYI Vista Ultimate 64 bit user. Disabling Gatherer Addon allows me to use portals and to Hearth from base game to Shattrath again. In other words cannot transport to/from base game to/from Burning Crusade expansion areas when Gatherer is enabled. Yes I'm using 3.1, downloaded last night.
I tried the V3.1.1 and i still have troubles with logging off the game and sometimes (not like before) when i use portails and house stone. It feeze and i can't do anything. I uninstalled Gatherer and allworks perfectly. Help pls i need my sweet gatherer.
I'm not aware of anyone else still having the problem when using Gatherer 3.1.1. It's possible you've got a weird conflict with another addon. Try disabling all addons except Gatherer and see if you can reproduce the problem.
And what problem are you having with logging off? Gatherer, as far as I'm aware, never directly caused any problems with logging off.
I actually just tried to hearth back to Shatrath from the new island and locked up... I'd thought I was using the fixed Gatherer (and I'd never had the problem before)... I've now deleted the Gatherer I had and reinstalled 3.1.1 (Just in case I'd messed up the upgrade) and hopefully I won't have the problem again...
Well Randall, i've got the same problem as the house stone teleporting, my game freeze and not my computer. I made the opposite trial, i deleted gatherer and all works. i don't know what to do. Anyway thanks to had take this time to answer that's kind from you.
There have been problems reported in the WoW Mac bug report forums with the patch 2.4 client freezing or crashing while porting, logging on and off, etc. You using a Mac by chance chani? I crashed to the desktop just today while logging into an alt. It may also be true for PCs as well, I have not been reading those forums.
Ok, I think the reason this was still happening to me was due to using QuestHelper which was _also_ using the old Astrolabe, so updating Gatherer wasn't enough. It hasn't happened to me since updating QuestHelper as well yet, but we'll see...
Technically, the fixed version in Gatherer, should have overridden any version that QuestHelper was using. But yes, please make sure you have updated all of your addons.
