The old version had the option of having fixed prices and even if you temporarily used another price to meet competition, you would revert to that fixed price next time. This was great for crafted items or other items you auction regularly.

This is one function I really miss and the loss of it is costing me a lot of time. Please put it back in.

auctioneer advanced does have fixed prices all you have to do is manually set the price and advanced will remember the price until you change it .

Hmm, I don't recall now if the fixed price remains if you just select a different pricing mechanic and post an auction with it. It should, and if it does, it is unlikely we will change this behavior. i.e. if you select a new custom price, it will automatically overwrite the old fixed price.

If it does not get remembered if you just post using a different pricing mechanic, then that sounds like a bug, and you can enter a JIRA issue for it.

I can select a different price mechanic, but if I'm not happy with the automatic proposal and manually "clean it up" or set a temporary price, it will switch back to fixed and overwrite it.

I've added a JIRA issue for this, which you can vote on if you'd like: http://jira.norganna.org/browse/APPR-127

Having said that, I make no guarantees that we will implement this, since it is somewhat contrary to the initial design decision.

It doesn't sound exactly like what you are suggesting, but it's close...
What I don't like is that if you have a fixed price and select Market Value (or whatever) it overwrites your fixed price as it should.
If you then select "Fixed Price" again it does _not_ put the old fixed price back and (in that situation) I think it should.
If you start typing in a new number then that becomes your new fixed price and that is correct, but I do think that just selecting Fixed Price in the dropdown should put it back to your old value.

We are almost in agreement, I just feel you should be able to (manually) deviate from your fixed price, when competition so dictates, and revert to it when you are alone offering.

Or is it some way I can tell autioneer to go 10s below lowest competitor on bid and 5s below on buyout, unless my cost is higher so I want a higher bid, and still be able to go back to my original fixed price...?

One thing I realised last night... I've come across a similar situation before and I just used the Post tab to post the auction in that case, so I left my appraiser settings alone.
