This is a strange request, but was whispered to me this morning.

I guess there was a drought of illusion dust, and 2 twink characters were looking for enchants. They knew I was an enchanter, so asked me which items should they buy out from the current AH stock, for me to DE to most likely get the Illusion dust they needed for the enchants they wanted. I was able to help them eventually, but only through paging through many auctions my self..

I was thinking that since enchantrix has this data, it should be easy to filter current auctioneer cache data on disenchanting component...

I couldnt find that option in the Auctioneer advanced suite, does it exist?

there is no way to search for a specific d/e reagent, per se. This would be especially difficult, because the d/e rules are based on things like item level and rarity, not the specific item names, so we would have to output rules back to you, not items.

if they were running enchantrix themselves, they could adjust the item weights to only look for stuff which has a high probability of d/e'ing into whatever reagent they were looking for, but it would only work by scanning, not by outputting a set of stuff for them to look into.

alternately, they could just go to wowwiki, look up the disenchanting rule, and figure out what type of items they want to get from there.

This sounds like what I was looking for... They were going to pay me an exuberant amount for illusion dust. I wanted to go run and get some greens/blues/ whatever, that had high potential for being turned into illusion dust...

How does one set the weights you are referring to?

in the enchantrix options there should be a section for weights. something like that, anyway.

Or use btmscan and evalEnchantMats that looks for DE materials and has it's own set of weights.
Set the weights to everything other than illusion dust way down, and it'll value items based on how much illusion dust they might yield.

Aye, for the purpose of seeking a specific mat or set of mats I would suggest enchant mats, I actually believe that was the intended use of the evaluator.. it will seek out the mat itself or items that de into them based on the set of weights used for it (basically just posting ccox's response..) lol
