It's a confidence thing, mattbnr. Something being in beta makes people nervous or implies that it has issues. While this is true in our case too, it misses one of the basics of Auctioneer... That it relies on World of Warcraft. Blizzard are patching the main game fairly quickly and this is the major reason we are not yet out of beta... While we are catching up with Blizzard's changes and making it stable and usable fairly quickly after every patch, we are runing slower at testing all the newer stuff we are trying to implement. We keeping having to backtrack and fix things that _used_ to be stable, but things have changed underneath us. As you say, it works so it doesn't matter so much. We are active in both support and development and we fix big problems quickly. We aren't quite in the same situation as a normal application that is working towards a _fixed_ feature set and finish line and are therefore able to define when they'll be out of beta easily, our finish line moves every time Blizzard changes something and we have reevaluate where we are and where we are going.
