I have 2 suggestions to make :) I used the wowhead DB with gatherer and for the first one I would like to ask if it would be possible to add an option to only show lockboxes (footlockers etc) on the map/minimap if playing a rogue and have them hidden for all other classes. Secondly I would ask if there could be implemented in the gatherables report an option to search for specific nodes and a delete all option. So say for instance i wanted to delete all Barrels of Milk(melon juice etc) in my database i would pull up the report, in a search bar type Barrel and then have a way to highlight all that show up and hit delete marked. Right now from what i can see can only highlight nodes one by one.
I would like to see just one thing added. The ability to manage travel when looking at the map, a la MetaMap, etc. For the life of me, I can't understand why Blizz has not done this yet. It is so handy to be able to look at the map and navigate to a node etc. while looking at the map. Thank you.
well, it still seems to me that one could borrow what it is that Cartographer and MetaMap does and include it in Gatherer then. You know what I mean, nudge, nudge, wink wink. Alas, the best a 61 year old ADD kinda guy can do is donate from time to time.
It is my understanding that Esamynn does not want to expand gatherer beyond its current scope (tracking gatherables), especially as there are non-conflicting mods that cover other areas. (eg Cartographer)
RockSlice, Now that is a good answer!! Thank you for the input. I only wish that Esamynn had said something.
Being able to rotate the player cursor in the map, thus giving a sense of map navigation, would have been nice though. Cartographer is ok, however, the attendant mods/directories are legion as I found out to my woe last night; the latest package update contained many out of date directories and one, Cartographer_Routes that was no longer being maintained and being replaced by one that I could not find on three UI websites. As you can see, I am on a Cartographer learning curve here.
I will try the basic Cartographer mod coupled with Gatherer and see what happens; if indeed they work as a team, JOY!
Star- Those are good suggestions and, in fact, you can set Gatherer to only show "treasure" type items; then, by going further into the options you can select which treasure node types appear. Because of this, there really is no need to remove them from your database. After all, you could end up starting that Priest/Mage/Warlock/YouNameIt that would benefit from those Melon Juice Barrels.
Realize that this is an older post, so can only hope that you check back. =)
Trav- As mentioned by The Mighty RockSlice, WoWAce.com is really the "go to place" for any of the Ace mods, including Cartographer.
By going to the source, you can be sure to *only* pick up the main Cartographer piece, believe the current release-quality offering is listed as Cartographer2 there, then you will not have to deal with a ton of "extras" that many add when posting to third party sites like WoWInterface and Curse.
*Not to say those sites are "bad", we actually post the Auctioneer Full Suite and Gatherer with them to help people find a "good" download without dealing with people who try to be overly helpful by including more than the basics. For instance, on Curse there is not only Cartographer 2, but also a Cartographer Addon pack, and, at last check, a few others that include many extra libraries.
Personally, use Cartographer 2 along with Gatherer and have no issues- they do, indeed, work well together. Have only toyed with the actual "Routes" addon/module, so not certain that it does not introduce issues- but have not seen any from my limited testing.
