I've downloaded and re-downloaded auctioneer several times and it wont work. In the addons part it always says dependency incompatible. The only thing that works okay is swatter.

did you delete all the files that currently exist before redownloading and reinstalled, as described in the FAQ?

Yep I deleted all the addons in the folder first, I had deleted them when they became outdated the first time. Although if I delete all the addons out of the folder, they still show up like they are still there when I log in WoW for some reason in the addon part.

    Are you running in Vista?
If so, I highly recommend moving the WoW folder to someplace other than the C:\Program Files directory, due to the security setup Vista has (redirecting subfolders due to the programs installed there not having write access to themselves)

Thank you! I'm not sure if it was because of the vista thing or just the fact of moving it made the game seem to reset, but it's finally working. Thanks so much guys for your help :)

matt: Did you install in Program files?

More specifically, this problem commonly, though not always, occurs when WoW has been installed on Vista in the Program Files directory, User Account Control is on, and you haven't taken control of the WoW directory tree manually. Vista has some security features that WoW doesn't strictly obey in all cases, and it results in weirdness like this. If you're running on Vista but didn't install WoW in the Program files directory, or have turned off UAC, or have taken ownership of your WoW directory tree, you probably won't see this problem at all. The easiest solution of all of those is to not install WoW in the Program Files directory.

i have the UAC turned off as it asks me all the time and most of the time its only when im installing something so i found it rather pointless to even have on.

and yes i have it installed in c:/program files/world of warcraft

Turning UAC off is why you don't have this problem. A few features of UAC are what create the problem.

That said, while UAC can be irritating at times, there are a number of useful features, like registry shadowing to try to prevent any registry corruption, that you lose if you turn it off, just FYI.

i have never had it do anything with my registry when i had it turned on. just ask me like a million times to do something liek install a program.

Shadowing is done in the background without notification of the user. It's done when UAC is on and makes your registry more resistant to corruption, though you probably aren't aware of it. Nonetheless, this is beyond the scope of the post.

Did not mean to hijack this thread, but I also am having trouble with a fresh install of auctioneer. Every time I go to the auction house, it wants to do a complete scan automatically. I cannot search for anything, if I do, it starts a new scan, then you cannot do anything till it is finished. I had to disable it to even use the Auction house, any idea or thoughts how to fix this?

make sure that btm is not turned on. it will stay turned on even after you leave the AH. if you log out then it should turn off.

so it wants to do a full scan with out you pushing anything? it just does it on its own? if so that is strange. are you using advanced or classic? any swatter errors that you can find. type /swat show and see is there are any errors.

And what exactly are you seeing that indicates to you it is trying to do a complete scan?
  1.
When i downloaded the addon i went on wow and it said the dependancy was missing for Enhtooltip and stubble. they are both in the folders for the addon and it still wont work

Please review http://Wiki.Norganna.Org/Installing - follow the instructions precisely, then see if the issue remains.

.93? that isn't a auctioneer amount it might be a valuation from one of the stats like as in it is .93 confident that that is the right price for it. i believe std does the confident values.

I deleted all the folders, reinstalled, same thing is happening. When I first open the AH, it automatically starts a complete scan, It states so. Then after that scan is done and complete, if I select lets say weapons, and click on browse, it starts a full complete scan again, I can log out of the AH, come back and the scan keeps continuing. I never had this problem with Auctioneer before, I have been using it for a few years. I am pretty baffled by it myself, and I miss using it. I am using the Classic version, as I do not care for the advanced myself.

    Lexxy,

Think that you have BottomScanner active- that will keep reloading the last page of auctions, and possibly the first, check to be sure you turn BottomScanner off in AuctioneerAdvanced's options.

If you check that and it's disabled, and you still see the behaviour, then please post the SS as requested by Monsieur RockSlice.

    Hope this helps,

Ok, here is when I entered the AH, and it started scanning all by itself. Note: I turned bottemscanner completely off in the addons.

    1

    Here is after it scanned

    2

And here is what happened when I tried to just do a random search, it flashed once to the item listings, and started a new scan again.

    3

I still have to leave it off even with bottom scanner turned off. Let me know any ideas you may have.

    Thanks

hopefully someone that uses classic on a daily basis can help here as i haven't used classic in over a year.

but why are the boxes marked? don't you have to do that manually in order for the scan to actually know what categories you want to scan?

No, the default is that they are all checked when you install the mod.

It is almost acting like the Search button is the Scan button, Either one that I click on initiates the scan. Although it still automatically scans each time I open the AH.

As an update, If I uncheck all the boxes for the different categories with bottom scanner still turned off, it no longer automatically scans the AH. Although if I leaved any of them checked, and go to search something, it will scan whatever is checked.

can you try this: rename your Addons folder, and replace it with a new one that only has the AC Suite in it, extracted from a newly downloaded zip.
    Also rename your WTF folder.

If that solves the problem, move the WTF folder back.
If the problem hasn't turned up again, move folders from the old Addons folder into the new one one at a time. (though don't overwrite the folders from the AC Suite.

Then post back here with when, if ever the problem resurfaces.
