Support::Gatherer: Gatherer does record only the nodes i can't use

    Well, i upgraded to WoW 2.4.2 and i use Gatherer 3.1.2 release.
    With my main i learned the mining profession, but when i loot a mine (doesn't matter which) it is not recorded in Gatherer. When i try to loot a herb (as an miner) it is recorded.
    The same the other way round: As an herblist gatherer doesn't record my herbs, but the mines ...

    I tried to disable all addons but Gatherer and Gatherer-HUD but it didn't work.

    edit: ther is something interesting: if i loot a mine (as an miner) and then loot a herb (without moving, so the herb is next to me) it records the mine, but says that my profession is too low...

    What kind of server are you on? Stating this at all, especially this long after it was released on Blizz's servers, would seem to indicate you are using a private server.

    If this is the case, we can not and will not provide support.

    This happened to me with the recent 2.4.3 update. Gatherer will only track the items which I don't have the required skill for, similar to how the other guy explained. A couple of my friends noticed this as well. I tried some of the unstable versions with no luck, so now I've resorted to going through the source trying to find a solution to this, but so far to no avail. I've tried it on Frostmourne and Maelstrom, but it happens on both realms.

    Check your display settings.

    I have. It shows all the nodes fine, there's no problem with the display. The problem is that it won't record new nodes if the character I'm on is able to gather them.

    Sounds like there may be an issue with where you are looking, Esamynn is referring to the display settings section of the Gatherer options. If not, that's okay too. Can you take a couple of screen shots, showing the various settings, please?

    My apologies, I actually read the problem backwards. I thought you were only seeing nodes which you could gather with the current character.

    Have you tried testing the issue with only Gatherer enabled? The results of that test should help us to narrow down the possibilities.

    Sorry for the long wait. It turns out one of my other addons was interfering with the WTF folder and causing problems when it tried to save the node data. I've sorted out the problem, but thank you for all your suggestions.

    So we can help other users in the same boat: could you tell us what "other addon" was causing the problem?
