account just got reinstated tonight. Either nikk acts fast and has some pull, or my wife and guildmates working the customer service forums finally got the right person to take a look.

Thanks for listening to me vent for the last week around here, and the offers of assistance.

Looks like this was indeed just a mistake and not a new policy of banning auction profiteers.

    Yay!

Just out of curiosity, did they ever say what triggered your ban originally?

They never gave any specifics about what triggered their ire, or what they were so sure I did until the third investigation.

I think they want to keep that close to the vest so that the actual blackguards don't know what they are looking for.

makes it pretty hard to deal with when you get slapped, though.

Yeah and it always worries me that I could lose everything without having any control over it.
I try not to do anything dodgy but the grey areas seem to be getting bigger...

Well I guess the only thing that could get you banned is cross-account transfer of >1k gold. I bet they have some kind of scan routine running on the realms that keeps looking for these transfers and alerts GMs to catch RMTing lamers. So if some GM hasn't had his caffeine fix that morning or whatever he might ban you even though your transfers are just as legit as the method you used to aquire the gold. Getting banned for messing with the AH is pretty much impossible IMHO. They'd have to warn you before taking any further action since nothing you can do with Auctioneer is a direct violation of the EULA. Also if they'd restrict ingame profit trading, they'd open one hell of a can of worms.
