    Im getting the following errors with Auctioneer. They only seem to occur on 1 server though which kinda leads me to believe that it might be a database corruption issue. Does that sound right?

    to start with, your version of Auctioneer (AC) is positively ancient, i think. If you're going to keep it enabled, you have to update it.

    It looks like you're using the dev versions. I'm going to guess that maybe you forgot to update your libraries in addition to the trunk.

    it may also be that your scan data file is corrupted. you can try renaming it while out of game and see if your problem resolves.

    Im using latest dev build for all modules, including AC. I am also using the latest dev lib build. But I'll try the renaming scan data file thing and see what happenes

    I just realized that I posted this in the wrong section. This should be in the Auctioneer-Support Thread. Should this be moved there? I dont wanna double post or anything.

    I tried renaming Auc-ScanData.lua and loaded up WoW and still got the same error. Any other ideas?

    its way out of date. delete the folder named auctioneer and reinstall if you plan on keeping classic around. it might be throwing up your errors.

    Im not sure what thats about, because Im using and have been using the Auctioneer folder/files included with the latest dev builds at their release (right now, Auctioneer-ALL-r3304.zip). I dont know why in Swatter its reporting as v4.1. I have even made sure to go ahead and delete all auctioneer folders from the Addons dir b4 decompressing the new folders from the Auctioneer-ALL.zip file into it. This is the same process I have used since i started using dev builds months ago and this problem just started showin up 2 days ago.

    Are you using Windows Vista with WoW installed in the Program Files directory, by chance?

    No, I am using Windows XP SP3. However the system volume is G: instead of the usual C:. So WoW is installed on G:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\. Not sure if this makes any difference but while looking over some of the stuff I thought I saw some kind of reference to C: for something. Im not even sure if thats what the C: i saw is referring to, but could this possibly have something to do with the errors? I kind of doubt it but im kinda just stabbin in the dark I guess

    Nope, I'm wrong. The dev version of Auctioneer reports itself as v4.1-DEV for some reason. We should probably change that.

    Anyway, back to your problem. You have a lot of issues in swatter now. Can you do a "/swat clear", then log off and back in again, then "/swat show" and paste the first error or two in your log back here for us?

    2 possibilities for the "v" problem -- the scandata.image table is sparse and the # operator returns a bad value (it really isn't the number of entries), or the table is corrupt.
    Changing from # and "for 1,n" to ipairs would rule out or solve the sparse table possibility (i and n are not used for anything else in that function).
    Testing for v being nil would help identify possible corruption (and allow developers to backtrack).

    Alright I cleared swatter and here are the 3 errors that come up. All Auctioneer related. You can probably already tell by the errors, but it appears AucAdv is totally broken. When I do a scan the AucAdv processing doesnt work and AucAdv module info no long shows up in item tooltips. On the positive side, auctioneer is much more responsive now and easier to work with without all that processing going on in the background =P

    I have also been getting an error that pops up in my chat log when i open an Item tooltip. Not sure if it is auctioneer related or not. But this is what it says.

    Magik - there's not much you can do about it. That note was for engineers looking into the problem.
    (meaning that I tried to see if I could solve it, but I'm not positive where the problem originated and what the best solution might be)

    Tried that already. Tried deleting all the auc directories in the Addons folder and reinstalled a previous build from before the errors started and no luck. Still get the same errors. Its kinda lookin like something has corrupted 1 or more of auc's data files. Of course Im no expert though, which is why I came to you guys :)

    well i would suggest removing your wtf folder and letting wow make a new on by logging in and start completely new then. remover the wtf folder and the addon folder and start fresh.

    I might try that, but I really dont want to lose my scan data i've collected. I have put a lot of time and work into auctioning in order to make myself enough gold for both myself and my friend given that I dont put in nearly as much time playing as a lot of people and have no other way to keep up. Im really curious too as to figuring out what the issue is behind my errors.

    Your first error is the infamous ADV-111 error. We had hoped it would be gone in our latest builds. We still don't know exactly what causes it, alas.

    What you can do is use a new, empty WTF folder, then bring in each stat-xxx file to determine which, if any, is the root of your specific issue.

    Many have found that stat-StdDev has been corrupted, while a few others have found that stat-simple is the culprit.

    Since ADV-111 has been around for quite some time, and we really do not have many leads at the moment, this is your best course of action, so that you get some functionality. Honestly, even if you end up finding that more than one stat is corrupted, it only takes a week or two for your statistics to become quite good.

    Obviously, that is not the best of outcome, but, until we are able to determine the cause, it is something that can happen.

    Be certain to backup your WTF folder every few days and your AddOns folder ever time you upgrade or remove any AddOns from your system. That way, you will have a known good set to use should any such thing happen in the future.

    I tried removing all the stat-xxx.lua/bak files from the SV folder and I still got the error. So it would appear that a corrupt stat db is not the culprit in my case.

    Okay, sorry this is taking a while- can you disable "Auctioneer" in the main WoW AddOn manager, accessed via the Addons button in the lower left of the Character Selection screen.

    Then try to scan using the "play" type button in the upper left of the main Browse Frame. Another person was seeing this item every so often and disabling that cleared their issue.
