I'm sorry about this, after searching here and googleing for this issue I've found a solution, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I've uninstalled auctioneer and all of it's modules and deleting the saved settings and reinstalled it and tried to follow the instructions again (http://forums.norganna.org/discussion/6016/overlapping-tooltip-solution-found/#Item_2 these ones, that is).

This is ruining my WoW-experience, as it is an eye sore. If some one could help out, I would be very appreciative.

check your enh tooltips options. i had that problem as well and it turned out to be one of the options. something like block others from calling or something im not in game to check once i get in game ill update this response.
hmm it helps on mine i disabled it (make sure its not marked). i just tested this in game and it worked for me. do you have any other addons that effect the tooltip ( cowtip tinytip etc etc.)
Seems that did it! It kinda works out this way, I did use tiptac for some of it features. Do anyone know of any settings in that addon that I may tinker with? I haven't been able to figure something out by myself yet. Might be worth mentioning that it doesn't overlap when I look at items in the questlog! WITH tiptac, that is, ofcourse.
Allright, I've solved it. So for future reference;
For me it was in tiptac the problem was (obviously), so open /tiptac and go to Anchors -> And at the first option, "non-unit anchor type" select anything but "Mouse Anchor".
