It is both a happy and a sad announcement that Auctioneer Classic has reached its end-of-life with our development team.

Auctioneer Classic has been a real little trooper for the last 3 years, and despite many faults, it has been all that a lot of you have known.

After 2 years in development, and with the recent completion and the first release, Auctioneer Advanced has reached the stability and maturity level required by us to be promoted to be our flagship product.

With the impending release of WoW 3.0 and the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, we have decided not to patch up Auctioneer Classic for the transition to the new game client.

Unfortunately Classic doesn't meet our self-imposed quality standards and this is for the most part why 2 years ago, we set out on the path of developing a more robust, modular and stable Auctioneer; what has become Auctioneer "Advanced".

Advanced through a modular design has support for the vast quantities of data that must be stored without overflowing the internal databases and losing data. It is also really easy via Advanced's modular API to add new stuff like advanced statistics and utility modules to Advanced without breaking half a dozen other things in the process.

In the future, you will see many more features and functionality get added to Advanced and hopefully will become your new most favorite AddOn.

Auctioneer Advanced is functionally similar to Auctioneer Classic. Every major function that exists in Classic has been implemented in Advanced, and our current documentation (Auctioneer Advanced) will show you how to access the various components to do what you need to do.

If after reading the documentation, you still are not sure that you understand how it all works or even if you have suggestions how to improve things, please come and talk to us on IRC or make a post in these forums.

    Thankyou,

    Norganna.
