with the upcoming demise of auctioneer classic - may it rest in peace -, I started fiddling around with AA for the first time, on the PTR, using the brand new preview build of AA for Wow 3 (AuctioneerSuite-5.1.3575).
I have a few questions:
- Is it possible to set fixed prices for item stacks in appraiser instead of setting a fixed price per item? That was the behaviour of auctioneer classic: setting a price of 14g/15g for a stack of 5 golden fish sticks was easy, and that was the way I thought about auctions. I strongly prefer my auctions to have 'nice' prices, and no lingering silvers and coppers. Of course I can calculate the price per item manually (2g80/3g), but setting the price per stack immediately would be nicer. And yes, I realize that that brings some issues when you start changing the stack size slider - "what should the fixed price fields do in that case".
- FYI: I got an error when selecting the 'auctions' tab, causing the 'cancel' button to become unavailable. I had to log out, disable AA, relog, cancel in the standard UI, and relog again to enable AA again to get around that. Though the issue was rather persistent at first, I was unable to reproduce it now... Has anyone seen something similar?
- I see some strange results in the item tooltips. An item (Ivory Ink) that was seen 17 times, for a median buyout of 3g50, but a vendor value of 12c, got the tooltip "Suggestion: Vendor this item". Of course I only just started messing with auctioneer on the PTR, so I don't have enough data to make serious decisions, but this result nevertheless looks strange. Does anyone have an explanation?
About the error on the 'auctions' tab, I was able to reproduce it now. Here are the error messages from the start of the session onward. The change that allowed me to reproduce the error was that I now re-enabled compact mode (and logged out and in again).
Date: 2008-10-10 21:03:32 ID: 51 Error occured in: Global Count: 1 Message: ..\AddOns\Auc-Advanced\Modules\Auc-Util-Example\Example.lua line 46: unexpected symbol near 'if' Debug: [C]: ? AddOns: AceyDeecy, v1.0 AucAdvanced, v5.1.3575 EnhTooltip, v5.1.3575 Stubby, v93 Swatter, v5.1.3575
(the last error was after selecting an item that I put up for auctioning, while another item of the exact same type was sold less than an hour ago. After this error the 'auctions' tab 'froze' - I was unables to select other items than the one that was already selected)
The second and third errors are Blizzard UI errors (the 3rd probably being caused by the 2nd), and I'd suggest reporting it to them.
The first one shouldn't really be happening at all, and probably indicated either a problem with WoW's lua parsing, or a bad download.
In any case, it's an example module that doesn't run, so it can be ignored. If it keeps happening, please run the blizz repair tool, and try a fresh download.
