Glypher: is DataStore option within our scope?

    I'm wanting to have Glypher use DataStore to track alt bags, bank, auctions, mailboxes, and a specified guild vault for those users (including myself) who use alts to sell glyphs which are not the scribe.

    The functionality and configuration for this modification would only be available when the DataStore addons are detected.

    Is doing this within Auctioneer's (and Auc-Util-Glypher's) scope? I'm really hoping it is. :)

    No, if you don't have the DataStore addons installed, Glypher will work as it does now - considering only your current toon's auctions, inventory, and bank.

    If you do have the DataStore addons installed, Glypher will detect them and give you a couple additional options and features - considering the auctions, inventory, bank and mailbox of your alts, and the content of a specified and optional guild vault.

    I don't mind using external addons, especially ones we can't duplicate easily (since in this case it would require a fair amount of engineering). The other issue is licensing, but since the addon can't be embedded this is not an issue afaik. So long as we only use the public API of this all rights reserved addon.

    The core of the database is based on my work in Altoholic, and is thus designed with multiple-account support in mind. If client addons want to store data from foreign accounts, the database will be ready for it.


    Any idea if you going to use that, cause at this moment my glyph poster is on another account then my actual crafter

    Glypher already supports datastore_mail, _containers, _auctions - I will be evaluating _crafts as it will hopefully eliminate the need to hard-code recipes into Glypher. The only additional obstacle I see is sales-based stocking levels.

    i would love to see more use of datastore. i think its a great addon with alot of valuable information.
