Our much-anticipated server migration is tentatively scheduled to begin this weekend, 06 November 2010.
The server preparation and some movement of services should be expected throughout the weekend. Depending upon that progress, some of the move may take place at a later time. Although not planned at this time, there may be outages or times when the web services are locked/read-only.
Keep an eye on this discussion for updates/specifics.
Database migration has been completed. As of this forum post most sites/services are back online. We're still working to bring Jira and Fisheye back to life. The other known issue is that pastey.net is reporting post ages incorrectly. Tomorrow we'll start migrating the sites and services over to the new server.
Just an update, some items have been moved, but time has been tight as of late, so this is still ongoing. The items depending upon PHP have yet to be migrated, so some disruptions should still be expected.
The time inconsistency on Pastey.Net was addressed and Jira and Fisheye are back up and running at present.
Once complete, we will post a notice, and include a banner for at least a few days.
As noted, most services have been moved, but there are a few bits remaining - one issue is that the Single Sign On we use is still using its pre-movement database. That means that new users or those who change their passwords will not have access to Jira.
We anticipate that to be resolved relatively soon, but there is no ETA.
Jira, SVN and Fisheye have now been updated to authenticate against the new forum database. This means that new users, created since the upgrade to Vanilla 2, and users who have changed their passwords since that time now have access to all of those services. The only site that remains to integrate into the new forums is the Wiki.
Although the move is nearly finished, YAY!, thanks to the work by Esamynn, MentalPower, and the folks such as Norganna at http://cagechimps.com/ , there are currently some issues: Authentication across the sites - should be resolved tomorrow, 26 May 2011. Developer SVN access - is related to the authentication issue. Wiki - is being upgraded and should return within a couple of days.
We appreciate everyone's patience and look forward to some nice upgrades, some of which are in place, speedy services, and stability once the migration is complete!
Another step closer... SVN, Jira, Crucible, and such - Up and accepting authentication. Wiki - Statically up, but cannot edit or create new pages for the time being. Localizer - down for now, awaiting some love to the customized software to mesh with server software upgrades.
