Hello there! I had an issue with GlypherPost and couldn't find a resolution on the discussion forum so decided to pop in. As of late the glyph sales have been pretty nuts on my server with a few players posting extremely low prices. I have been toying with the "Allow Competitors" trying to not post certain glyphs at all. What I am trying to do here is have GlypherPost bypass glyphs that are below my minimum price. Instead of bypassing the glyphs I find that the glyphs below my minimum price are simply posting for my maximum price. Right now I am allowing zero competitors but have also chose. 2,4,6,8 and even 10 to see if my setting were wrong. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am wondering if I have misunderstood what the the "Allow Competitors" function actually does.
Glypher (and glypher post) have not yet been updated for Cataclysm. The original author has left WoW, and while someone else has stepped up to maintain it, he's on the steep part of the learning curve right now, so you may just need to be patient, as it's generally guaranteed to not work properly right now.
Thank you for the reply. I have recently updated to the Glypher and GlypherPost developer version and am giving them a go. While the issue stated above isn't working, I still enjoy using the addon and it can only get better. Thank you for all your hard work and to everyone else that keeps things going :)
I've messed with the glypher/glypherpost code a bit, and the competitors code does look a little funky. I can see what its trying to do (in 5.9), but it doesn't appear to be using GlypherMin as the price to compare competition against. I might try fixing that part once I switch to the beta, been wanting the same thing.
I'd suggest trying that out. If that doesn't resolve your issue I can possibly try to pick the brain of the prior developer and see if he can help me nail down the problem. Sorry I can't provide more assistance at present.
Welcome aboard, Masc. Since the release of 4.0.x us Scribes have had to cobble together whatever addon we could find to continue plying our trade. Glypher scan, Get Profitable and Add to Skill have been invaluable for finding profitable glyphs (that are actually selling) and suggesting a quantity that meets our needs. Having the /hardminstock switch to be able to start up a new scribe is also a very nice feature.
The Glypherpost utility's best function has been to post a number of glyphs based on previous sales (something no other addon seems to do). If I'm selling a lot of Glyph of XXX because Elitist Jerks just declared it the latest 'must have' glyph for your class, GlypherPost will pop 2 or 3 on the AH to take care of my sales before I'm undercut. The broken function, where it will post glyphs at a price that has already been undercut, has kept me from using it to post glyphs at all.
We're still a few weeks away from being able to use the Price of a Single Herb in our default pricing model. The lowest herb price found this week for a Cata herb was 2.5g (Cinderbloom) which would give us 28+g glyphs. But the price will come down as more people start bringing their wares to the market so it's a good yardstick for sales.
Again, welcome, and we wish you the best in your coding.
