I certainly would like it to take any gold that it finds, sales or outbids, after recording it and logging it to chat. This would reduce the # of messages in my inbox and start the next 60-second mail cycle. Great idea and appreciated. Absolutely would want that.



But some of AH/Banker toons can rarely do a get all. ( I can not live without BulkMail. In particular, being able to type "cinderbloom" and retrieve all the cinderbloom is wonderful.) Back in the day one needed three bank alts with Endless Pockets just to do glyphs; i.e. bag management is a big issue.

Some reasons why get all does not work for me:

A a crafter alt gets on and makes up say 12 or 24 items/stacks and mails them to the bank alt. With bag and even bank space at a premium, you want to just take a few from the mail, not 24.

If I have just snatched a few dozen stacks of ore/herbs/cloth/leather, I don't want to get down to 4 slots, I want to make sure I have enough to mail them off 12 at a time to reduce mail count on the other end.

Alas, it is quite easy to have 500 email messages and need something at the end and not want to spend the time to process everything before it.

So I am not sure that just doing a getall would work well for me. But if i had an option to only get items which are being returned from the AH? So anything clever with mail management would be appreciated.

The main reason why we do not have this sort of functionality is a limited scope and amazing AddOns such as http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/postal.aspx which, at a glance, does about everything you ask already.

We have considered this in the past but, at most, it would only be a simple "grab everything" type of function. Regardless of the scope argument, we simply lack the manpower to support anything greater.

For now, we recommend that folks use one of the existing AddOns which focuses on mail and contains other desirable features.

The problem is - I only want what I've asked about. Nothing more. You know, the shorter the chain, the less likely the chance it will break. Also, the game login speed depends on the size of all addons loading. And for me, it's already quite long.
I've used DaemonMailAssistant for that purpose (because that's it's ONLY purpose...), but since WoW 4.0 versions, it does not work quite right. And given my limited amount of free time, I don't have room to dig through it's code to find a way to stop it from interfering with BeanCounter.

Personally, I have a bank alt that brokers all the stuff from all my other toons. I use the POSTAL addon to "Get All" my mail. It then goes into my bags, and then use the appraiser window and click "Post Items" alot. I basically do this routine every morning during my email/FB/coffee window before I get dressed and go to work. Between Blizzard knowing about this problem and Postal addon fixing it, I don't think the devs here should work on it.

A: This sounds like it is really an Auction House problem. The mail system is intended to be a little throttled and slow to discourage spam and junk mail, and works just fine for “real” mail between friends, alts or guildies. The problem is the design choice we made to hitch the mail system to the Auction House. Players dealing with a high volume of commodities have no choice but to deal with tons and tons of mail (and this is particularly bad for diverse commodities with low margins, like glyphs). We are discussing different ways the Auction House can work, but we’re not convinced the right answer is just to make the mail system more automated.

I'll have to look into Postal :/ If only for my broker alt... Retrieving a few thousands of returns by hands is a very time-consuming effort.

Surprisingly, Postal was "Just the thing". A bit messy configuration, but once set, it's working well so far.
