GathererDB Wowhead stuck at 94.4% missing Icecrown/Wintergrasp, maybe more, multiple versions tested
  • ZukiZuki November 2011
Got a problem with GathererDB WoWhead tried both the 2011.11.03 from wowinterface
and the latest from the official site 2011-04-28 and both stop at 94.4% missing icecrown and wintergrasp data, maybe more.

(the bar goes up to 94.4% and closes, data still adds for other zones)

Tried multiple times with gatherer 3.2.4 from this site, and also with the beta version posted there.

This is with just the basic addons active (gatherer, gathererhud, gathererdbwowhead, slidebar, swatter) that come in the zip files

Links of the versions I used :
    http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=11707#info Database version 2011.11.03
    http://www.gathereraddon.com/dl/GathererDB/?all=1 Version 2011-04-28 21:47:05
    http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info4100-Gatherer.html#info Gatherer version 3.2.4

Also tried the beta gatherer posted11-08-2011 from here : http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info4100-Gatherer.html#comments with it (overwriting version 3.2.4 files with it), same problem persists.

I deleted gatherer related saved variables every time and restarted the game between tests.

    Zuki,

Not sure what to tell you, it runs through the import and all, with no errors. A few folks have had what you describe happen, though.

Based upon what is happening, would think that there is some issue with the data, perhaps an existing node that became corrupt, some how. http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=11707#info is the correct version, any others could have issues. If you open the file, you will find that there is quite a bit of IC and WG data, so, the reason why you do not find any afterward is due to the import not completing.

Did you rename/delete the ..\WorldofWarcraft\WTF\Account\\SavedVariables\Gatherer.lua while the game was shut down? If the game was still running, then the old data would have been written when you logged out/restarted. The easiest way to tell is to rename/delete, then open the Gatherer database view to see if there is anything present - if so, then the file was not removed.

If that still does not work, please enter the following at the chat/command prompt in-game:
    /run foo()

Copy the entire Swatter output and post that back here.

Please check that and let us know of your findings.

As an aside, please only post in one place. We all try to check the different boards and only have so much time in a day, so that helps to not duplicate the effort.

    Happy Gatherering,

    Nikk B-)

I will try to do a complete addon reinstall again on an empty interface/wtf folder and see if it persists. Deleted my double post on wowinterface, sorry for being impatient.

Just renamed and moved my WTF and Interface folders, deleted Cache, and did a fresh install of the last database + gatherer from wowinterface, same issue where it stops at 94.4%

    Zuki,

Can you enter that command, above and paste the results back here, please.

Also, what is the path to your WoW installation?

Can send you a full dataset - but would really like to know why this is happening...

    Thank you!

By looking at the world map on a fully explored character, from Orgrimmar, I see no nodes in Icecrown, Wintergrasp, Tol Barad Peninsula, Isle of Quel'danas. Zero. (after turning on 2500 nodes, both mining/herbing/treasures)

Firethorn (borean tundra), Incendicite Ore (wetlands), miss icons show red circles instead.

Also the stranglethorn overview map looks a bit strange on node placement, and generally there seem to be a lot of clusters of "Unknown" tagged red circles around areas I suspect they are quest objects :mushroom place in southwest zangarmarsh, South feralas, Most of silithus (Silithyst), some along the coast of south stranglethorn (message in a bottle?)

I think those errors are part of the last 5.6% that doesn't properly import.

    Zuki,

Actually really need to take off, so will send you a data set - just open the document, copy it, open up Gatherer.lua, and paste over the entire Gather Items to the bracket before GatherDrops.

Will have to try a few more things in order to track this down... just mystifying!

    Zuki,

One quick question to help in setting up some tests - what OS are you using? Although we have yet to run into any real cross-platform issues, maybe that has something to do with it.

Appreciate your patience and all, know all to well how annoying it can be when things do not work right. =)

Taking my leave, have a great weekend.

    Happy Gatherering,

Hey guys, i saw this post on Google. I am having the same problem. The import bar gets to 94.4% and finishes. I have a lot of nod locations, but nothing in ice crown, and many missing out of other locations. When i open up my Gatherer and look at my Gatherables Report i notice Elementium vein is at the top with two locations written over each other. One is "Ashenvale" and the other is "Ahn'Qiraj: The Fallen". I think the database may be corrupt because Elementium is not found in Ashenvale or AQ.
I am using Windows XP 32bit, With no other addons running, and I tried importing it twice.

You're using an out of date version of the database.
