The main thing I'd like is for the default setup to work fine for the "average" person with a few different characters who just wants to pick flowers or bang rocks together (depending on what that character can do).
I'd rather the kind of situation where you only need profiles to do odd or tricky or cool things that most people don't really get around to.

For a long time I have felt per-character config settings would be useful. Not because the different professions have different mapping requirements - that is largely taken care of by the option to enable icons only for herbalists or miners - but because the ideal settings depend on where the character is and what he is doing. In Badlands, for instance my priest is questing and gathering herbs for his alchemy. But red icons vanish easily there and I want to increase their size and stop anonymous ones turning red. Meanwhile my hunter is gathering Un'Goro soil, and I want to disable herb and ore icons so that just the soil ones stand out. All this is fine until I switch characters, and it would help enormously if the settings were persistent per-character.

My second thought is that I would prefer an edit box instead of a slider for the node display parameters (opacity, icon size etc.) Perhaps it would be straightforward to provide an edit box linked to the slider setting? It would also be cute if the minimap button could be dragged to its position as other addons have implemented. An option to lock it in place would be cool if this was implemented.

I used to have Gatherer in BC, dont remember the version, but i could share the info with fellow guildies or friends and that really helped farming, i do not see that option on the new version. am i missing it? if not can it be added to the next update?
