Keeping in mind I'm using the development version, I'm starting to see multiple prices in the tooltip and it's annoying, distracting, and confusing.
There's really only one value that I want to see reported in the tooltip, and all the other ones can go away. I want to know what price auctioneer will actually set it to if I dump it into the appraiser window (multiplied by stack size). Including matching utilities like Undercut. In the development version, this is actually shown...but so are some other things I don't know how to get rid of. The only other things I want to see are Prospecting/Milling/Disenchanting value, and vendor buy/sell value.
Here, lemme give you two pictures, what I see, and what I wanna see. Sorry for my complete lack of artistic ability.
First off, when at a vendor, I don't need to see the sell price twice. I like it tiny in the Enh Tooltip better, since tinier means less space. Just make sure that if there's a discrepancy in this value, that it use the 'live' value instead of the static database. (And possibly update the static database if possible, as well as send a message to chat that it's different? Something to think about.)
Secondly, this item can't be bought from a vendor. It's wasting tooltip real estate by having a line for buy from price. If there's no Buy/sell price, void those lines out to save space.
Lastly are the ones I can't figure out how to remove (if it's even currently possible). This information means nothing to me. The final undercut price is all I care about. As far as matches in image, I don't care either, the Undercut tells me if there's competition or not, and that's all I need to know. As you can see in the original, one of those prices is listed twice. Waste of space!
These would be awesome options to include in the future. Please? ^_^
When you're at a vendor, Blizzard's code puts the price in the main tooltip.
Informant does now allow you to update the prices at vendors.
Even if you can't buy an item from a vendor, there are prices for it that affect how much it sells for, and how much the AH will change as a deposit.
The rest is just configuring AucAdv to show what you want...
Thanks for the help RockSlice! I'll put that into effect right now. And yeah, marking up by 100% when no competition works well for me, because I use the minimum bid price (vendor + deposit), and my item is very likely to sell via bid even if someone undercuts me via buyout. It also tends to raise the market value average for other people, which raises it for me when I scan their items, etc. Everyone does things differently, and this is how I do it. ^_^
While you're here, which 'stat' module is Market price? I have Appraiser do Purchased statistic by default, with the alternate as Market, (and if I could, I'd have Vendor Markup as a third option), followed up by Util modules Beancounter, and then finally Undercut (which pretty much makes the rest of them pointless 99% of the time, but oh well). I'd like to disable all the other stat modules to keep things clean. But I don't see Auc-Stat-Market. Is market 'classic', 'sales', or 'simple'? Or, to put it this way, if the only two stat modules are purchased and market, which 'stat' modules do I have to leave on, so I can turn off all the others?
